Hi! [JOE AGENT] with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty Texas here & I was recently asked a question by a seller that I wanted to share with you. The question was simple, “We really like our current home, but it doesn’t meet all of our current needs. Should we remodel, or move?”

For such a simple question, the answer is actually pretty multi-faceted. The truth is, first you

need to understand the difference between your needs & wants. In the case of my client, the need was for an extra room with the addition of a newborn just around the corner. The reason they asked the question however, was due to the fact that they had a bonus room which could be transitioned into the extra bedroom they needed.

After fully discussing the options & weighing the consequences of each decision, the client

actually chose to follow through with the conversion & stay in their current home. I was able to connect them with recommended vendors & the job was finished quickly & relatively painlessly. You see, sometimes the choice to stay & alter your current living situation is the right answer. However, in the situation where needs cannot be met by renovation, I strive to find my clients options that check all the boxes & meet their necessary criteria.

If you’re considering moving, but the thought of staying is present, it’s a question worth asking. Let’s discuss the possibilities of your current home & what is available in a new one.
